Are we normal yet? We are easing our way into this harvest, picking just a ton of Chardonnay in late August followed by four tons of Merlot and Cabernet Franc the past couple of weeks. These shots are from Mendocino: that is a bin of de-stemmed Merlot and a cluster of Cabernet Franc. Yields are light in this drought year but there is little to no rot that we’ve seen, and the small berries are auspicious for fine wines
