Are we normal yet? We are easing our way into this harvest, picking just a ton of Chardonnay in late August followed by four tons of Merlot and Cabernet Franc the past couple of weeks. These shots are from Mendocino: that is a bin of de-stemmed Merlot and a cluster of Cabernet Franc. Yields are light in this drought year but there is little to no rot that we’ve seen, and the small berries are auspicious for fine wines
Cellar Note: Our 2019 Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are both tasting lovely; the Pinot in particular is starting to come into itself from what has been an awkward phase since COVID. We will hope to have holiday specials available soon!
