2014 Russian River Pinot Noir
The 2014 Wait Cellars Russian River Pinot Noir was made from 100% hand-picked and hand-sorted Pinot Noir fruit from California’s Russian River Valley AVA.
We made a small amount of this wine with classic Russian River Pinot Noir in mind. The wine was made from a blend of fruit from two very different pick dates from the same vineyard: the Devoto Garden Vineyard, west of Sebastopol. Unlike our vineyard designate, the second pick hung two weeks longer, developing richer, riper flavors and stem lignification. It was wild-fermented with 25% whole clusters and conditioned in 33% new French oak.
If you click with a fuller-bodied Russian River Pinot Noir, full of sexy dark chocolate and brooding cherry notes, but nonetheless built with the elegance and finesse you expect from Wait Cellars, you’ll love this celebratory, exuberant wine!
