2012 Russian River Chardonnay
Our 2012 Russian River Chardonnay is made from 100% hand-picked, hand-sorted fruit from a small, gently-farmed, low-yield block along Olivet Road in the Russian River AVA, Sonoma County, California.
This is an unfiltered, un-oaked Chardonnay. We picked early to retain acids and temper alcohol (this one comes in at a very Burgundian 12.8% ABV), in pursuit of a natural expression of the block. This tiny lot was then cool-fermented and conditioned sur lie in neutral barrels for six months prior to bottling.
The result is a graceful Russian River Chardonnay, brimming with crisp, table-friendly acids, stone fruit aromas, and comforting apple, mango, and butterscotch flavors. Some natural sediment is to be expected at the bottom of chilled bottles.
